Hi guys! It's been quite a while hasn't it? A lot has happened since then. I'll be starting school next Monday. I am terrified out of my mind but I'm trying to keep my cool. I know I'll be able to do whatever I'm faced to do. *Cue Destiny's Child 'I'm a survivor'.*

 Sooo I dyed my hair...yet again. I've been planning on dyeing it purple for a hella long time and well, I finally did it! It's a reaaallly dark purple. It's so dark you can hardly tell it's purple. You'd probably think it's black or something. Unless you see it under the sun then yeah, you could see the purple.


So guys! How many of you have watched 'Annabelle'?!? I watched it about a week ago with a couple of my friends and well, it was utterly disappointing. I understand if there are some of you who can't agree with me and that's fine, but really though. I mean, the trailers were soooo good. And then I watched the movie and I was just disappointed. It was scary till the part the demon showed up, then it just got boring. And if you're a believer of the afterlife, God, and whatnot, don't you think it's rather strange how that lady just voluntarily gave up her soul, just so that her new found friend could get her daughter back?

Wait...Let's back up a little.


So this woman, Evelyn had a daughter and they were both involved in a car accident. Her daughter died but she obviously didn't. So she's been feeling guilty ever since, since she was the one behind the wheel. So she attempted suicide, yada yada...


So she meets this woman, Mia, and she learns that her entire family is being disturbed by this demon.



Fast forward to the part when Mia is about to jump off the building...



So now the demon has taken Mia's baby and demands a soul in return. So Mia gets on the ledge of the window, ever ready to jump when her husband grabs her and tells her she's being ridiculous and that killing herself won't solve anything. So then this Evelyn lady takes her place. I mean, back to the 'Afterlife' topic...She gave up her soul for another, but that means now, she can never see her daughter again. Her daughter's probably in heaven and well, she's in hell. Because she gave her soul to the devil. That's a little stupid don't you think?


Anyway, I give this movie a 6/10. I mean I'm a horror movie junkie and my standards are really high and well, this movie was nowhere near scary for me.


So that's about it!

"Stop reading at the table." or, "Put that book away. Now's not the time."  is something I hear far too often from my family members. I can't help that I'm such an avid reader. To be honest, I wasn't always a bookworm. I remember when I was growing up, people would ask me who my favourite author was, and I'd tell them that I didn't read so I couldn't answer that. Then they'd just stare at me as though I just grew another set of arms. Seriously, you couldn't get me to read a book even if you begged. That's just how I was.


Now's entirely different though. My dad, being the joker that he is, will always say to me, "I'm just glad you have your nose in a book and not in people's business or up people's butt." Hahah. Wise words from my pops everybody.


So anyway, I'm here to share a few of my favourite books. I love books by Haruki Murakami. I just recently found out about him through my Aunty. She said that her friend had recommended her a book called 'Norwegian Wood' and she didn't have the time to read it so she decided to lend it to me since I was in search for another book to devour. Hah. That book is something I like to call a 'No sleep' book. Because that's exactly what you aren't getting. Sleep. That book was fantastic from beginning to the end. I won't summarise or anything for you guys because I really want ya'll to read the book.

Hi all! So a few days ago I explored Thomson V Two. There wasn't much to see since it's relatively new. Since I had about an hour to kill, I decided to have a cup of coffee at this cute little cafe called 'Fluffy White Cloud'. Or that's what I think it's called. Hah.

The cafe is incredibly tiny. Like seriously. 'Tiny' is the best way to describe it. It's waaaay past 'small'. At first I was a little skeptical because I'm not a big fan of the whole hipster scene but this place looked cosy plus there was no one there so I was all for it. I walked in and was greeted by a petite girl. No wonder they hired her, she could actually fit. The menu was rather impressive too. Plus they sell watches. Yes. Watches, coffee and desserts. Interesting huh?




So I ordered a vanilla latte. Okay so here's the thing. I'm a big fan of vanilla. Seriously, you could have vanilla fish and chips or something and I'd still eat that. So I've had countless cups of mediocre vanilla coffee before so I was expecting this to be the same, but this cup of coffee was absolutely delicious. The vanilla was just right, the coffee wasn't overwhelming, it was just beyond perfect.

After I was done, I went in to pay up and I just had to tell her that the coffee was the best vanilla latte I have ever had. I will definitely be going back for more vanilla goodness. It's a great little place to catch up on your reading or if you just want a good cup of coffee and some quiet time.

My, my. It's already September! Where has all the time gone?... Anywho, Today I managed to meet up with one of my best friends that I've known forever. We've been unbelievably busy with work and school so when an opportunity to meet came, we jumped right on the opportunity bus. Who knows how long till we got another opportunity right? So we decided to have brunch together at Thomson Road. Since we were pretty early and most of the cafes weren't opened yet, we settled for a café called 'Habitat'.


Habitat is one of those well-known hipster cafes. They have a couple of outlets if I'm not wrong. I don't know what it is with hipster cafes being so intimate. I mean yeah, sure, some might call it cosy but seriously guys, it'd be nice to have a little bit more space. I mean do we really need to be 10 cm away from the next table, being able to hear every single word the next group next to us is saying? Gosh. Maybe it's just me.


So the menu was pretty great although I didn't order anything to eat. I'm not really a breakfast person so I just ordered a cup of Vanilla coffee while my friend ordered a hazelnut coffee and a 'Big Ben', which consisted of eggs, some ham or bacon (wasn't too sure), a sausage and other stuff.





              After brunch, we headed to Thomson V Two to snap some pics. Well, here they are!

Hi everyone! So a few days back I had a "Zombie Movie Marathon" and I've come to the conclusion that people don't actually know how to survive a zombie apocalypse. I mean let's make these movies a little more believable shall we? Are you seriously telling me, before this whole flesh munching disease went down, they had no idea how to properly kill a zombie? I mean they must've watched 'Night of the Living Dead' or something? Apparently not.


So here's a few helpful tips for you guys when (not if) a zombie apocalypse happens.



TATIANA'S ZOMBIE SURVIVAL TIP #1

-ALWAYS. And I mean ALWAYS, have your weapon with you.-


Don't ever think, not even for a split second that you can do without your weapon. Be it a baseball bat, a machete or even a frying pan. Keep that shit never further than 2 cm from you. If you've watched 'World War Z' then you know what I'm talking about. Come on Brad. You can't be that stupid. Leaving your weapon outside the damn glass box?  Get real bro.


TATIANA'S ZOMBIE SURVIVAL TIP #2

-Only use a gun (that's if you're lucky enough to have one) when necessary.-


If you find yourself in the presence of a couple of zombies, use your other weapon. DO NOT for any reason shoot the zombies square in the head. Unless of course you have a silencer or something then yeah. By all means man, go for it.


TATIANA'S ZOMBIE SURVIVAL TIP #3

-Have more than one weapon with you.-

Keep that gun in your belt hoop and carry a baseball bat or something. It's easier to kill a few zombies then shoot them dead because we all know when you shoot a zombie, the bang is just going to catch the attention of nearby zombies.


TATIANA'S ZOMBIE SURVIVAL TIP #4

-DO NOT hide out in a place that has only a couple of exits.-

If we've learnt anything from 'Shawn of the Dead' is that a bar is the worst idea to hide out in a zombie apocalypse. I mean yeah, a couple of them survived but still, they all could have if they had chosen a shopping centre or something.

-Travel with a few people. Not more than 5.-

We've all played 'Left 4 Dead'. No more than 5 people. Just as long as you've got someone to watch you're back, you're quite safe....quite.

Hi everyone! So recently I've gotten extremely lazy to dress up and knowing me and how I take absolutely forever to get ready, I decided to scope around for the simplest and fastest everyday hairstyle that I can wear anywhere. Be it the supermarket or to school. So I came across the 1960's beehive hairdo...very Amy Winehouse inspired? Yeah. So I tried it and wow. I was up and ready to leave in 5 minutes. Amazing huh? Well I thought I'd share with you guys my rendition of the very famous 60's hairdo.

Hey all! So yeah, I think it's about time I bring my blog back to life. I've been incredibly busy studying for my IELTS test and well, it went pretty well. Let's just pray all my hard work will pay off. Because after all, if I don't get band 5.5 and above, I got to retake my test and that means I won't be able to register for my course in October.



Anywhoo, today I took a couple of pictures since it's been forever since I last dressed up and well, I had an opportunity to act all pin up and stuff. Out of the many pictures that I snapped,

HIYA! So I'm assuming it's pretty obvious what this post is about right? Pfft. DUHH! So yeah. Today I met my friend Genestine for lunch at IKEA because that's like my favourite place in the whole damn world. I mean come on! The meatballs are to die for! While eating Gen and I came up with a brilliant idea. I was telling her about how I love IKEA's meatballs so much I want it to be served at my wedding. And yes. I am dead serious. So then we were just talking about how much of a great idea that would be when we decided that a meatball fondue/volcano would be absolutely perfect! So yeah. That needs to happen. Ahahah. So after lunch we grabbed some cotton candy because they were having some mini fun fair and IKEA so free popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream etc.



After that we made our way to the expo for some boooooks. Gosh how I love book fairs. Although most of my books are bought from thrift shops or given to me as presents, I do sometimes treat myself to slightly pricier book. There were sooo many books but guess what? I only got one. Yeap. Just one.



I got Tina Fey's 'Bossypants'. I am head-over-heels in love with this woman. She is just so unbelievable hilarious and witty. Right now I'm reading a book called 'Lucia, Lucia' so I'm hoping to finish the book by the end of this week so that I can start with this book. So yeah. Slightly longer post than usual but I just thought I should share my day! :) Enjoy your weekend y'all!

Hey dolls (and possibly dudes?),

So the weekend has just ended and its Monday again. As weird as this sounds, Monday is actually my favourite day of the week. So anywho, these past few weeks my Monroe piercing has been giving me some problems. It keeps getting this little pimple or blister or whatever you want to call it, right next to my piercing. It appeared two weeks ago. Took a week for it to pop and scab over and lo and behold, it grew back again yesterday. Like many people I am super stubborn. I refuse to remove it. I mean hey, just because of a little pimple you expect me to remove it. *Cue Cher's voice from Clueless*, I don't think so!

On to another topic!


I'm thinking of doing OOTDs on my blog. I feel like my blog is, well, how do I put this in the most visual way possible...Lying on it's deathbed, attached to a monitor, stuck in a coma. In other words, I need to bring this blog back to life yo! Hahah. We'll see yeah?

Hiya! So it's Saturday again and I've managed to find a little time to write this post despite my busy schedule. And by busy schedule I actually mean lazing around and eating till I puff up like a chipmunk. So I'm going to keep this post as the title suggests, short and sweet. So I've been thinking of what else I want to include in my blog. I'm contemplating on writing a post on all my vintage dresses, where I've purchased them and which of them are my favourite. Hopefully I can take photos and have the post up by the time the weekend rolls around. Fingers crossed! :)

So the weekend has rolled around and what a better way to start the day than with rain. Yes. It rained early in the morning and unlike most people, the sound of rain wakes me up. So it's not unlikely that I'm typing this post with tired eyes. So anyway, I bought this dress on Carousell and for those of you who don't know what that is, let me explain. It's this app that allows you to buy or sell things as long as you have an account. So anyway, I bought a dress from this kind lady. I was supposed to meet her at Dhoby Ghaut at 1.20pm because she had some aerobics class to attend at 1.30pm. So typically, I left the house late and didn't think I would make it on time so I told her that I would meet her at Parkway Parade later at 5.


Hmmm....I suddenly forgot the point of this story.

Sooo, I've been thinking a lot lately and I truly want to move to San Francisco. Something about San Fran seems so...lovely. Hahah. Yes. I suck at describing. But now, Chicago seems like a good place too. Hence the title of this post. See what I did there? Hmm?


Hahah. So yeah. I don't know. I mean I don't want to move to a country that I can't even make a living in ya know? And that's why Singapore is out of the picture! For those of you who are Singaporeans, you know what I'm talking about. I don't think I'm complaining but seriously you guys, you can study really hard or not at all and you're still going to find trouble getting a job here. I'm terrified to be honest.


Hmm. These thoughts are bumming me out. Starting to ruin my Saturday. Okay, I think I'm just gonna end my post here. Have a lovely weekend y'all! <3

Hey all. So all I've been doing today is slogging at my laptop trying to write my compositions. So to help me get by, I've created a playlist of songs from random artists and genres.

So I have been obsessed lately with the song called 'Je Cherche Un Hmme' by Eartha Kitt. Uggh. How addictive is that song? I literally had that song on repeat the entire morning. Even though I haven't a single clue what she's singing about that doesn't stop me from listening to it till I die. Hahah.

Next song to help me get through this new kind of hell, is Justin Timberlake's 'Not a bad thing'. This song just recently came out in Singapore and wow, it's one of the most played songs on most of the radio stations here. Ugh. Talking about Justin Timberlake, his song 'Mirrors' just came on the radio.

So next few songs I've been listening to are mostly from the 40's to 70's. I have been listening to a hell lot of swing music recently too. Something about swing music just makes me feel like I can conquer anything I put my mind to. In this case it's completing these god damned compositions. Right now my fave swing song is 'A room with a view' by Artie Shaw and his Orchestra.

Hiya guys! It's been a while since I last posted something but gosh, I've been soo busy. Plus I've created a dayre account which is somewhat a combination of instagram and blogger? Yeah. So I've been spending most of my time there but hey, here I am today, back on blogger. So to be entirely honest, I've been contemplating deleting this account but then again, I don't really want to so I shan't. TEEHEE. Alright. Moving on.

Yes. I know what you're thinking, "Gee, Tatiana, that's an awfully weird title you've got there." Okay maybe not exactly what you're thinking because we aren't in a movie from the 50's but to be totally honest, I live like my life is a movie set in the 50's which brings me to why I named my post that. I cannot be the only one when I say that I wish that time travelling was much easier. I mean I know this sounds totally strange but I do believe time travelling is possible and has been done before, its just that no one wants to share how its actually done. Like hello? Selfish much? So anyway yeah. I do want to time travel. Maybe go back to the 50's to see how my grandparents fell in love? Hahah. So yeah. The donut part in the title is totally random. I just love donuts you know? Like I feel like I've got life figured out when I am enjoying a chocolate filled donut with sugar sprinkled on it. Ya feel me? Haha.

Anywho, I've got to go get ready for work but before that, I really think I should stop by MacDonalds because they are having a  "Breakfast all day" thing and I do love me some breakfast. ;)

Hey all! I hope life has been treating you fine because life has been fantastic to me this past week. So anyway, my friend Genestine has decided to work part-time at this restaurant that I am currently working at. She managed to get past the interview and she starts this Wednesday! I am so excited because come on, who doesn't want to work with friends right? Plus Gen and I  are saving for our degree which we plan on doing together too. Haha. On a different note, I haven't even started sewing my circle skirt and to be honest I am running out of excuses not to get it done. Gah. Plus I owe work my time. Damn it. I got to get my isht together. Hopefully I can pay them back all the time I owe by the end of this month. Fingers crossed.

So for those of you who don't already know, I am trying to learn how to sew. To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't even sew a circle skirt for crying out loud! But in my defence, I am trying terribly hard. Okay that's obviously a lie but I do dream of trying hard. Haha. Okay so my aim is to sew at least one skirt before Easter so that I can wear it to church or something. Maybe a pastel coloured one? Preferably yellow because that is my favourite colour. If you dolls know of any simple patterns for a circle skirt please let me know. I'll post my progress so that you guys aren't kept in the dark. Wish me luck!

Oh. My. Gosh. If you haven't watched 'Easter Parade' you are missing out. This movie is definitely one of Fred's best movies...well, in my books of course. This man could literally stop my heart with all his charm. My favourite scene from this movie has got to be when he dances on stage with all those beautiful people all dressed in bright coloured clothing. The song's really sexy too. Maybe because he's singing it. ;) Here's a snippet for y'all.

Well, well, well. It seems like forever since I last logged onto Blogger. I've been absolutely busy it seriously felt like I was slowly going insane. So anyway, my Christmas and New Year's were fantastic but there were obviously some bad things that happened but, oh well, I'll get through it. (Will let you guys know the full story another time.) So just an update, Faith and I have decided not to work on this project together since we can't agree on most things, we decided to just go our separate ways. We're still the best of friends though so no need to worry. So 'Tangled in Pearls' is now officially mine and only mine and I have some pretty big plans for her in 2014 so ya'll better be ready. ;)
